Online Learning  
Week 10 June 8th - June 15th 

Here are your tasks for our tenth week of online learning. You can do them in any order that you would like. The approximate time to complete your assignments are listed to help you plan your week. Further instructions for students are in our Google Classroom. If you need any further clarification with these tasks please do not hesitate to email me. 

Language Arts / Inquiry / Well Being 
Time- 3.5 hours 
  
Journal Entry – Letters to Grade 3 Teachers 

  • Write a letter to your grade three teacher! What do you want them to know about you as a learner? Tell them your favourite thing about school. Tell them what goals you are working on.  
  • Ensure your letter has a greeting (Dear ______) and a signature at the end (From  ____) 
  
This assignment must be turned in to your teacher.  
(1 hour) 
Independent Reading  
  • Pick a book from Raz Kids, an online book or book you have at home and work on your independent reading goals. 
(1 hour) 
Reading Response – “Let’s Talk About Race” 
  • Listen to Ms. Ahiyya’s read-aloud to learn more about racism and what you can do to make the world a better place for people of colour. 

(30 mins) 
Pointillism Bug Art  

  • Watch the video on Pointillism art and think about a bug you like! Practice using the techniques shown to create your own unique bug  
This assignment must be turned into your teacher.  
(30 mins) 
Comparing Characters 
  • Use the Venn Diagram to compare characters from 2 different stories.  
(30 mins) 


Math  
Time 1.5 hours 
Graphing  
  • Look at the survey on favourite outdoor activities and complete the graph template attached using the information collected 

This assignment must be turned in to your teacher. 
(30 mins) 

Solve Your Friend’s Math Problems!  
  • Complete one of the addition or subtraction story problems from your classmates. 

(30 mins) 

Prodigy 
  • Explore Prodigy: Explore Prodigy to build number sense.  
(30 mins) 



Music and Physical Education 
Music  
  • Check the Saddle Ridge School Music blog and complete activities 
Physical Education 
  • Check the Saddle Ridge School PE blog and complete activities
