Online Learning Tasks 

Week 5 May 4th – May 11th 

Here are your tasks for our fifth week of online learning. You can do them in any order that you would like. The approximate time to complete your assignments are listed to help you plan your week. Further instructions for students are in our Google Classroom. If you need any further clarification with these tasks please do not hesitate to email me. 

Language Arts / Inquiry / Well Being	Time- 3.5 hours
Journal Entry - Story Writing   Write us a story! Make sure to include all your story elements: character, setting, problem, and solution.  This assignment must be turned in to your teacher.	(1 hour)
Independent Reading  Pick a book from Raz Kids, an online book or a book you have at home and make inferences about the story throughout reading.	(1 hour)
If You’re Not From the Prairie Story Response  Watch the video read-aloud of If You’re Not From the Prairie and reflect with a mindful moment.   Think about what you would want people who are not from Calgary to know about our city using jot notes.  This assignment must be turned in to your teacher.	(1 hour)
Making Inferences   Watch the video on “Making Inferences” again and look at the attached picture. Think about what you already know about these pictures. Make your own inference about what the story could be about and write your ideas below the picture.   This assignment must be turned into your teacher.	(30 mins)

Math	Time 1.5 hours
3-D Objects Review  Watch the video “3-D Objects Review” and complete the sorting activity in Google Slides.   This assignment must be turned in to your teacher.	(30 min)
Math Word Problem  Watch the video and solve the math story. Will you need to solve using addition? Or subtraction?	(30 min)
Prodigy  Explore Prodigy: Explore Prodigy to build number sense.	(30 min)
