April Updates :)

HAPPY LONG WEEKEND!

We are so excited to have completed our first week of Online Learning and are excited to continue learning with you in our Google Classrooms. If your child has not completed some of the tasks this week yet, that is okay. We are asking students to complete them by Monday, April 13th. 

GOOGLE MEETS

We have set up additional Online Office hours starting next week on Google Meet. This will provide students with an opportunity to connect with their teacher or have any questions they may have answered during this time. Use the meeting code your teacher has given to your class to join the Google Meet. These Office Hours are simply additional drop in times for any questions students may have but please know, it is not mandatory your child attends each session. 

Teacher Google Meet Office Hours: 

Ms. Meier's Weekly Office Hours:  Tuesday 9-10 AM & Thursday 1-2 PM
Ms. McBride's Weekly Office Hours: Monday 1-2 PM & Thursday 10-11AM

We will still be having a Google Meet with our whole class each week where we are asking all students to attend. Next week, the day and time will remain the same! 
Wednesday, April 15th at 10am!  All students to please attend with their classroom code.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Below is your Google Classroom "Schedule" for the week of April 13-20. We will also be sending this out as an email through School Messenger every Monday. This "schedule" lists all the activities to be completed by the following Monday, so students will be able to work at their own pace and share technology. The schedule is only to make you aware of your learning expectations, and to help you organize your week in whatever way works best for you. All activities, lesson, and resources will be posted inside our Google Classroom. We will be available during school hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00-2:30) to help with anything you may need! Just email us :) 

Week 2: April 13 - 20, 2020 

Here are your tasks for our second week of online learning. You can do them in any order that you would like. The approximate time to complete your assignments are listed to help you plan your week. Further instructions for students are in our Google Classroom. If you need any further clarification with these tasks please do not hesitate to email me. 

Language Arts / Inquiry / Well Being	Time- 3.5 hours
Written Retell  Watch the story video, Hair Love!, and retell in writing.	(1 hour)
Independent Reading  Read on Raz Kids, an online book or a book you have at home.	(1 hour)
I’m Bored Story Response  Watch the video read-aloud of I’m Bored and reflect with a mindful moment.	(30 min)
Email Mrs. Luckhardt  Send our EA an email and explore using the keyboard.	(30 min)
Editing Practice  Edit Ms. Meier’s writing for capitals, punctuation and sight words.	(30 mins)

Math	Time 1.5 hours
Subtraction with and without regrouping Video   Watch and follow along   Complete the questions at the end of the video and check your work  Take a picture of your completed equations	(30 min)
Subtraction Word Problem  Watch the Goldfish video and help Madison solve her snack problem.	(30 min)
Prodigy  Explore Prodigy: Create your wizard and take the placement test.	(30 min)
